As an academic mentor, one shares one's knowledge and expertise while guiding and supporting students in their academic and professional journey. In this blog post, I will explore the importance of mentoring postgraduate students and how it can positively impact their career development. I've been doing this for over two decades now and have worked with hundreds of students from the University and Institute of Technology sectors. I've learned many lessons...</p><h2>The Benefits of Mentoring</h2><p>Let's start with the benefits, shall we? Mentoring plays a crucial role in the personal and professional growth of postgraduate students and by providing specific guidance and tailored support, mentors can help students navigate the many challenges they may face during their studies and beyond, particularly in the age of AI (I've written about this elsewhere in separate posts) and 'woke' culture.
